Perhaps the result of many years watching great plans never really see the light of day. Too many meetings where everyone nods along but you just know that it's not going to ever get done. 

It was never about needing more 'best practice' or more frameworks. Never about someone coming in with all the answers. That would never have worked for me. It was never about not being able to do the job either. 

What I find really helps leaders now is the addition of an external perspective. Not to replace skills, experience or expertise, but to enhance/accelerate them. 

It's what I would have found incredibly useful years ago.
