Stress Test
Before I begin an embedded partnership with a school, I put the senior leadership team through a diagnostic stress test.

I’m currently reviewing the results for an upcoming collaboration. It is fascinating, and sometimes uncomfortable, to see the gap between a leadership team’s perceived alignment and their actual reality on the ground.
It’s not about judging competence. It’s about measuring clarity.
If you are sitting in a senior leadership role today, take 60 seconds to run this audit on your own school.
Score each statement from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree).
1. Our leadership team shares a consistent understanding of our top priorities. [Score /5]
2. Leaders use the same language when describing the school's direction. [Score /5]
3. Our communication rhythms keep staff aligned and reduce confusion. [Score /5]
4. Middle leaders implement expectations consistently across teams. [Score /5]
5. Our systems and routines support us, rather than add noise or friction. [Score /5]
What is your total out of 25?
Be honest with the score today. But more importantly, ask yourself: Where does that score need to be in 6 or 12 months for your vision to actually succeed?
The schools I work with aren't looking for small improvements; they are looking to close the gap between ambitious intent and daily execution.
Because of the depth of this work, I take on very few new partnerships each year. I currently have a window opening for just one school that is ready for this level of rigour.
If that score revealed a gap you know you need to close, just message. We can have a quiet conversation about what a reset might look like.
